HathiTrust Research Center Analytics

Supporting large-scale text analysis of the HathiTrust Digital Library for educational and non-profit research

The HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) is a research center dedicated to enabling computational analysis of the HathiTrust Digital Library. Established in 2011 as a partnership between Indiana University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and HathiTrust, HTRC developed tools, datasets, and infrastructure that supported scholars using text and data mining methods to study the HathiTrust corpus.

In October 2024, HathiTrust Executive Director Mike Furlough announced that funding for the Research Center would cease at the end of 2026, at which time the center will be formally closed.



The HTRC Analytics Portal Has Been Sunsetted

As part of its closing, HTRC Analytics services have ended as of September 30, 2026. HTRC accounts and logins are no longer available. HTRC Algorithms and Data Capsule services have also been discontinued.
